For all of you interested, my last post ended with me going to a private clinic where I finished the whole thing in two days, and it cost me about an avarage salary in Serbia and a half.
As I’m recovering from the surgey now, I have a lot of time to watch and read the news. While in America, some guv’ner (or was it the Governor of New York?) had to go in front of the press with his wife and say how he is ashamed of having sex with a prostitute, we had our own shocking news of the day:
Zoran Petakov, an anti-fascist activist from Novi Sad, got a fine for about €1200 for accusing the Serbian Orthodox Church of supporting some fascist organizations.
One of the church’s officials he named got terribly insulted and filed a lawsuit against Petakov. But, another person who got terribly insulted was the judge who heard the case. In fact, he said that this sort of insult against the church was not heard even in the communist era. Petakov not only insulted the dude who sued him, but also all Christians and the judge himself, the judge being a baptized person.

The only problem I can see with this decision is that the judge seems to have overlooked the fact that the church supports fascist organisations.

this reminds me of the people I saw at the “prayer” held at s.sava temple in 21th february, with lots of people with chetnik parafernalia, and Obraz flags, etc…who, from there went to the US embassy and arsoned it, and to the shops and kiosks to steal nice reebok sneakers and phone cards. all of that are doubtless very christian things to do…
